    Silo Special neck size

I have a permanent finger injury and the neck I can play the easiest on is my Silo Special maple neck (Thanks Big Poppa!) I also have a rosewood Silo Spec. that I much prefer the sound of. The problem is that the contour of the rosewood neck is thinner than the maple and is harder for me to play. I had another rosewood Silo Special in the past that was the same way. My questions are, are all rosewood Silo Spec. necks thinner that the maples? If not, what dealer in the Northeast would have the best selection to try out? Don't want to take the chance of buying without trying first. Thanks!

My Silo situation sounds identical to yours, however others here have said their maple and rosewood Silo Specials are just the opposite: that their rosewood board feels bigger than their maple. I think it's just the luck of the draw. Trying before buying is always the best way to go when you can.

I played a maple Silo Spec at Guitar Center a few weeks ago, and didn't notice any difference in neck size or overall playability. Must be a real subtle difference.

Never thought of Guitar Center because they don't normally have Silo's. They've got that 30 day trial so maybe that's the way to go in finding the right neck. Anybody know of any Silo Spec. rosewoods at any GC? Or anywhere else? Thanks.

You can try Pete DuBaldo. He's in Connecticut and a member of this forum. I'm sure he's got both maple and rosewood silo specs in stock.
