    Thanks for the quick reply.

    I've been running my piezo signal through a "full range" amp sim on the GT-8 (which I am fairly satisfied with); maybe I should try bypassing the amp sim and just adding effects. I should note that when I play my signal goes straight from the GT-8 to the mixing board and then through the house (I play in a church).

    Regarding practice, I need to set aside some time each day, which I don't do nearly enough. I also tend to get bored with the same old exercises because I don't feel like I am making enough progress. I did find a link earlier today though that I am going to try when I get the chance - it's about alternate picking using several Petrucci examples:

    I agree that the best way to get the best sound out of your piezo is to hook your pedalboard directly to a mixing board, but I can assure you it will sound more real by bypassing any amp modulation from the pedalboard.
