    Dargie Delight

    Hi All,
I am relatively new to the forum and Ernie's in general! I bougth a Silo Blue Dawn several months back from a Forum member and am hooked! My question is what is the history of the Dargie Delight guitars??? And what would be my chances of scoring a Dargie Silo? thanks!

The Dargie was a forum based guitar that was open to order with about a 2 week window. Not many of them floating around. You have to hope someone is selling one to get one. They are not made anymore.

The short answer is they were a limited run of green instruments with martini inlays that were spawned by the forum and BP and based on a bass owned by Scott Ball (Dargin on the forum). The opportunity to grab one will be resale only so check the forum for sale thread and ebay occasionally. I believe Glenn (GWDavis28) had a Dargie Luke for sale recently that might still be available - try a PM

There were 277 made, so they are a rare find at this point.

    Oh yeah...I got one!

The order window was during the summer of '06, but I believe most were delivered in early spring '07.

277 of each model or in all? Including Silo's, Al's, Luke & JP's???? Did they make any Axis Dargie's? Are the Lukes neck similar to that of a Silo? I never played a Luke... I really love the Silos necks!

    I appreciate everyones input!

Man, great question. I too am a new member and was curious about the Dargie's history. Very cool theme and color.

I think in all. They made them in basses as well. I played a fretless Stingray (with a blank plank) Dargie at the Guitar Center last year. It had the one martini inlay at the first "fret" only. It looked really classy.

Total. Not sure of the exact number, but that sounds about right if not right on the money.

There was a list floating around about which ones were made. I am just too lazy to try and find it right now...
