What's the name of the shop ? My family is from the north of France, so Belgium is always a nice place to visit ... especially if there is a chance to find some EBMM !

It's not Piens... Piens is a big store, but last time I was overthere, they didn't have any MM guitars and, I think, one MM bass... Mr. Piens himself is not really a nice guy...

I live in the north of Belgium and the store I'm referring to is a very small store in Mol (www.rockplanet.be)... It's quite a drive from the north of France...

The last time i was in Piens it has a few EBMM guitars, though that was some time ago...things change I suppose.

I like the fact I dont see every band playing mm. I like that there are not a lot of stores stocking mm.
Yes a good salesman should have a sertain knowledge of there goods. But it is a huge undertakeing to learn everything. That is why we need to educate owerselfs , this forum is awsome for this. Have you seen the huge influx of chinese and korean guitars in guitar center. Now I am shure that the market is being saturated with these ok guitars. Shecter and Ibanez have huge lines and that is a lot for a kid in a band going to school or what ever......to retain. Think about all the dead brands that are now being made in asia like Hagstrom ,gretch , danelectro, even Dean was out for some time now they have a large line of cheap to some expensive american models. My rule of thumb is to look for the oldest salesperson or manager. GC usualy have a big salection of guitars, and I have checked out a guitar there and orderd it from my local guitar store.
Most players that want an american guitar will check out a gibson or fender first, or even a prs. That is fine with me. I stumbled on ebmm hanging on a wall full of generic guitars. I was getting a new pickup put in an american strat and i played the morse as i waited. I bought it the next day. Now that guitar is my mane axe and have learned more about the brand since. I am waiting for an axis ss that I orderd 2 weeks ago.
How many of us have heard of or have knowledge of Mayones , Caparison, or Tam Anderson guitars. How about G&L . We dont like the generic or you would not be reading this post .

well no offence to anyone who likes GC but i think there just a joke, there sales people don't know a thing, friends always have problems with them... anyways that sales guy don't no squat! i bet he does not even know what a guitar is......

The GC in Nashville is pretty good. I think all of their clerks are gigging musicians, and they seem very knowledgeable about several brands. MM is out in front there, next to the PRS's. Right now, they only have a BFR JP6, and a Luke. They've sold all the rest.

Can we get a restock on aisle 5????

Well just got back from the Sacramento store and their EBMM stock is growing nicely. I was pleasantly surprised to find 3 Super Sports, a couple of JP's, and didn't count exactly but there must have been about 9 EBMM basses. Sterlings, Rays and Bongos galore. My gas is growing quickly.

same here and in boston they have about 6-7 EB guitars most are JP's & only couple of basses but a whole lot better then the one in natick, in natic i have only seen one super sport.. which i don't like the one in natick... :/

After perusing this entire thread I just wanted to chime in about the new (er) GC location that opened in Lancaster, Pa. It's a great store and I love the staff. Unfortunatly I can't remember any of their names, but all of the sales clerks have been very helpful and knowledgeable. (There was 1 fiasco with a case for a universe...man, they helped me for about an hour! I'm so thankful for the lancaster crew's dedication to service!)

As far as I remember they don't have any balls, with the exception of one Bongo 5 hanging way up on the top of the wall.

The only thing I will never understand is why they BLARE a different concert dvd from each department...it makes it almost impossible to really demo and instrument or gear and get a good feel for it. Any ideas why they do that? Is that standard for all GC's? Or do the employees do that just to make it through the day...I know if I worked there I would only be able to hear some kid jumping presets on a line 6 so many times before i'd lose my mind. Haha...

But seriously, Much respect to GC.
