My axis neck has went a glorious colour and I think it just oozes warmth, class and character.

Nobody seems to have one. Here's the best I can do....my '99 SS which played about 500 nights and darkened a little I think. The fretboard was attended to by Machinehead in 2005 so shows little wear.

Compare it to the more anaemic looking red one that never left the house

I've never smoked in my life, but I do think all guitars benefit from regular exposure to tobacco & beer fumes......mind you I think a lot of strange things.

Actually I will have five faux fur ones in a fortnight because I've negotiated a free fifth faux fur one with my new guitar which will be with me then.

Well, that's my contribution to the world of worn and dirty necks:

Here You can clearly see which guitar is the oldest and has the most playing hours in it.

But, there is a problem with one of my guitars, that makes even the morse's neck on the pic seem like new. My BFR JP6's neck has gotten very dark lately - "it's, in fact, all dark". I don't beleive it will ever show its beautiful mahogany birdseye again (weep)

I assume the friend has since been properly drawn and quartered?

That's one freaky faux fur flag you're flying, friend.

My necks are well played, but also well cleaned. Guess I miss the funky neck award this year.

That's altogether a lot of alliteration.
