Any CLEAR pics on differences between Black and Sapphire Black?

I've got this latest craving to get back what made me fall in love with EBMM guitars. It was a Silo, in black sparkle, birdseye neck, and pearloid guards. This was more than 10 years back. It had an FR... It was love at first sight. I'm back to wanting one badly now.

Now, I'm thinking of either a Silo or a Silo Spec. I'm concerned that the Silo would look best in HSH, and in a more contemporary feel with a matching headstock, so I might simply get a Silo Spec for this first. At last, I can reclaim what I let go 10 years ago...

    In this look:

I know black sparkle is no longer available, but there's Sapphire Black... So what's the difference between these 3 blacks? Or rather, since Sparkle is no longer available, what's the visual differences between Sapphire Black and Black?

I'm concerned that Sapphire black looks more charcoal grey than black. Black Sparkle retained that realy deep black look, with shiny flakes.

So help me out guys... Black? or Sapphire black?

Sapphire Black is a tricky colour (as are most the the EBMM colours!)
It goes from black to grey to a purply-blue.

Here's some colour variations. Hopefull this helps.

Foggy, thanks for all these pics. You have convinced me... Sapphire black it will be. Probably go and place the order by this weekend.

I'm just awaiting one last detail from Customer Service on premium necks and gold hardware before I place this order...

Probably yes. But I'm trying my luck to see if I can order one with a birdseye neck, and I'll top up the amount if necessary.

My dream EBMM was like this: Silo, Black Sparkle, Birdseye neck, and Pearloid guard. I'm not so bothered about gold hrdware. That's just a bonus. Now that I can afford it, I want that exact same look I fell in love with 10 years ago. I hope I can get it. Even though black sparkle is no longer available, at least there's an option of a sapphire black. Otherwise I'd go with Graphite Pearl or Egyptian Smoke...

    PLEASE????

Don't hold your breath man, it's luck of the draw. I'd love a black sparkle one too, but that probably isn't going to happen too.

Nice dream man, but it's time to wake up now.

I'm ok with Sapphire Black. That's a mild compromise, but a pleasant one...

But the birdseye is a highly desired requirement... *crosses fingers*

I'll probably stick to this order if they refuse, but I'd like to own that elusive guitar I've been yearning for such a long time...

Sapphire Black is much cooler than Black Sparkle IMO. Then again, I've never really been a fan of sparkle colors, except for Blue Dawn. I actually never realized how cool Sapphire Black is! Now I want a JP7 in that color, thanks a lot fogman...

I wouldn't hold your breath on hoping for birdseye. I think they're put aside for the BFRs..... And as for guitar models, I think Albert Lees get those way before the Silos! Mine Silo's neck is white naked!

I have to agree with Foggy and Rob, both of mine are more flamed than birdseye man, but the flame is just as sweet in my eyes!!!!!
