    Replacing compensated nut

    Hey all,

I had my SS set up for heavier strings (56-42-30-17-13-10 = Drop C metal) and the slot for the 56 got massacred by the guitar tech.

Has anyone been able to acquire a replacement nut? I called EB customer service today and they told me they sold packs of blank nuts, but that they don't have precut ones.

Am I going to have to get a guitar tech (A DIFFERENT ONE, ha) to make one for me?

    Hi Nick,

I guess your dealer or your tech should be able to get one via the national distributor. At least this is how it works here in Germany.
If you're located in the US, I really dunno...

    All the best !

...damn am I lucky NOT to have the compensated nut on my Silos. My tech could easily exchange the stock parts in favor of real bone nuts... *sigh*

    yo,

so i ended up ordering the packets of two blank nuts because it turns out that ernie ball slots them on the neck of each guitar, they aren't just precut and glued on. this seems absolutely crazy to me, but why wouldn't they make everything absolutely perfect?

if anyone's heard different, i'd be interested.
