    Neck-Thru EBMM's?

This might be an old topic as I've not been a regular on this forum until this year but is there a specific reason that EBMM's don't do neck-thrus? The only obvious reason I can think as to why they wouldn't is the consequences of a broken neck.

    Any thoughts?

It's not like they've never considered it or tried.......

I think the fact that it would be a totally different manufacturing process might have a lot to do with it.

That AL sure looks nice, but I've always loved bolt on necks and none of them have ever given me any trouble. If they did, I'd get another neck.

I'd love to see a Pet with a neck-thru. It just doesn't have that much sustain, and I think it would brighten it up a bit too.

I think one of the reasons we don't see them is also because of the possibility to combine neck and body woods, instead of just settling on one wood for both and then adding on more to either side.

if i remember correctly, there was a proto JP model with neck-thru, but it never made it to normal productionline.

    I don't get it.

And yeah, I remember those pics, but I wish they'd made a production model. With 24 frets. Why did the prototype only have 22?

I think he disagrees that the JP doesn't sustain? I think I'd agree, you have heard him (JP) play right?!

Oh, and back to topic, my guess too would be that they stick to the bolt-on for consistency, quality control, and I think we'd all agree, they work just fine!!!

I applaud your use of self-restraint! hehe

I see you're from Montana (or IN Montana)? Where a-bouts? I'm from Billings, went to school in Bozeman, and landed in this strange, strange land. I miss Montana, no doubt! Maybe I'll get back some day.

I have always preferred bolt-ons, so I'm not complaining.
