    Where to play

I live in southern california and does anybody know of a place that actually carries some musicman guitars in stock that I could go and play? It seems the majority of the dealers either dont have any in stock or have one and its almost always an axis, and I am looking to try out a silhouette special. Heck it would be nice to try out a few of them. I am astonished how difficult it is to find places that have the best guitar ever made in stock!!

Call up Guitar center and have them do a search. I think theres a couple in SC that stock them. Also Wild West guitars in Riverside usually has some.

    where to play

I work in orange county but live in murrieta. I drive for the work that I do and have been to probably 5-6 different guitar centers and there all the same. IF they have a musicman, which is rare, they only will have one and its always an axis. Cant figure out why they carry 320890380 fenders and gibsons and 1 musicman!@!@!@ I even went to jims music in irvine and another place in huntington beach same old story. They always say "yeah we have no musicman guitars they are special order only" needless to say it is very fustrating. I was lucky to find the axis I have now at a guitar center here in murrieta. They gave me a really awesome deal on it becuase it had been sitting in there store for 10 months and he said honeslty nobody ever asks to see it or play it. I swear its like Fender and gibson must have some hand shake deal to keep musicman off the racks. We all know if they had a few of them out they would run them out of business lol!

If you look more closely, you'll find that there are 56,234 Squiers, 20,445 Epiphones and then only about 75 Fenders and 70 Gibsons.

Locals near me tend to know exactly what EBMM's (or other interesting guitars) are where. The Axis SS in Natick has been sold and they still have the JP. Nothing in Nashua and the Blackstone mall has plenty of bass' and a used Peavey Wolfgang EVH in nice shape. Not that I spend all my time in guitar shops.......wanna know what's in Daddy's?

7/29/04 EBMM Sub1 X11376 oil/wax neck, gloss black body, faux binding, HSS w/5 way and silent circuit
07 Albert Lee SSS Black Cherry Burst
    buncha non-ebmm guitars
keep in mind that you are talking about four pieces of wood two pots one switch a trem along with springs two pickups and some wire.....BP

I hear ya dude....I purchase both of my Balls without the luxury of a test drive (purchased thru out of state dealers)....my leap of faith paid off though BIG time. Both my Music Man guitars are just brilliant axes!

Fenders are mass produced in more than one location....so they are everywhere.

I checked the Wild West site, and did a little searching for ya here in SoCal, but I didn't find a Silo Spec anywhere.

Don't give up...gotta be one somewhere. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Thanks man I appreciate it. Its good to know that you went flying without testing and it worked out good. I have had my axis for about a month now and it still blows me away. Good things come to those who wait

It's been a couple of months, but memory serves that Guitar Center Sherman Oaks had 6 - 12 Balls. I do believe there was a Silo or 2, but I can't recall the specifics. Give them, and the Hollywood store a call and see if someone will give you the stock. You could also drop Customer Service an email. I think they have record of where they all go, so they might point you in the right direction.

    Good luck on the quest!
And let me know if you stumble upon a BFR JP6, I GOTTA check one out!!

There is often a Silhouette or Silhouette Special at the Hollywood Guitar Center. True Tone music in Santa Monica had a SS when I went there 3 weeks ago.

As far as Fenders and Gibsons go. They are popular, have alot of history, and people love playing them. Thus, they sell a lot of instruments. I still prefer the EBMM though, especially the Silhouette Special!

I stepped upon the platform, the man gave me the news
He said "You must be joking son, where did you get those shoes?"
