    Volume Pedals

    Hello EB Forum members:

I'm new here and am trying to find where exactly I need to post questioins regarding Volume Pedals. If this is the place then my question is as follows:

I'm looking for a VP to use in the Serial EFX Loop on my Mesa Stiletto Ace.
Should I be looking at the VP 25K?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated,

    Thanks,

Yep, 25k, the low impedance version.

    At last... At straight answere.

You wouldn't believe (then again maybe you would) how many times I have circled the same house on as many forums.

Essentially, I am looking to approximate a Master Volume effect hence wanting to place it after the pre-amp stage.

    Thanks much....

Any time you're dealing with an active or low-impedance signal (say, from active pickups, from most buffered effects or in most effect loops), the 25k is what you want. Otherwise, 250k. That'll be ideal for your master volume application in the loop.

Hah, it is really surprising the way volume pedals are misunderstood. Glad I could help.
