Help about John Petrucci 7's

Ok, I have been looking into Music Man John Petrucci 7 Strings lately (sorry, im not an owner yet), and had a few questions.

Any and all help is appreciated.

1. What is the piezo bridge, how much extra is it, and is it worth it?

2. Does the piezo bridge also have a tremolo or not?

3. Does the tremolo system stay in tune well?

4. Can the tremolo system raise the pitch of a note in addition to the lowering?

5. Can divebombs and squeals be achieved with it or not?

6. How much extra is the 'Mystic Dream' finish?

7. Does the neck have a nice heel, is it contoured etc allowing greater access to upper frets?

8. What exactly makes the BFR edition more, and are they all baritones?

Well.. I had all the questions when i went in to order mine.. JP6 Mystic dream

Anyway.. i am sure there would be much better informed peolpe chimin in but, lemme give it a try while i am at it.. guys, please correct me if I am wrong

Piezo Bridge - As far as i have seen, all Piezos JPs come with a tremolo.

Tremolo - Yes, it is a floating tremolo.. so it is suppose to do both though i'd think that it'd be a bit limited in raising the pitch compared to a floyd base trem.. Divebombs -- i have seen plenty on youtube..

I am sure others will chime in proper answers for the BFR and such..

My guess is the Mystic dream finish doesnt cost anything extra.. It is just a color option.

so i guess i am going to need to save up about $2500 for a JP7 with piezo and mystic dream finish?

Ok, first off I don't own a JP YET, but I love the guitars and know the specs.

So the piezo is a pickup in the form of saddles on the bridge that allow you to have an acoustic sound. The guitar with a piezo has two outputs, one for mono use one for stereo. Also the switch on the upper horn controls the piezo modes, so you can either have no piezo and just use the magnetic pickups, or you can have them mixed together or just the piezo.

From what I've seen and can tell you have plenty of upper fret access, although the bfr one has better access.

Onto the bfr, which stands for Ernie Ball family reserve. While the regular JP has a basswood body and a maple neck, the bfr is a combination of exotic woods. The bfr body is also bigger and has bigger horns and no scoop on the body. The woods on the bfr are an alder body, a maple top, and a mahogany tone block running along the pickups. It has a mahogany neck as well. They both are 25.5 scale length necks and both come with locking tuners, a trem, and whatnot. And no, they are not all baritones, although as you seem to know you can order a baritone. They make a regular six string bfr, a seven string version, and a baritone version.
The tremelo seems to be incredible as Petrucci himself uses it and many people seem to love it, but I'll let them credit it.
So yeah, a lot to take in.

and i love the way koa wood looks, but im gonna be saving long enough just for a standard wood/top JP7 lol.

i mean im only 16, and i dont get a job until the summer (parents wont let me during school year), so im guessing my JP7 can be acquired roughly around late '09

good luck finding one! Talk to your local dealer. You may be able to get the guitar for a bit cheaper than that (i did, although the EB guy's don't want us posting actual costs here). It's also about a 4-6 month wait when you order through a local dealer, so you could place your order and then earn the money while you're waiting, like I did. Best purchase I have EVER made in my entire life besides my fiance's wedding ring haha. Good luck my friend, and welcome!
