    Dumb question alert!

What is the deal with the weird three screw pickup mounting rings? Are they standard single screw tabs on the pickups with some sort of adapter or what? I understand why, just not the how.

BTW - @ Big Poppa - First time I took off the pickguard of my Silo I was elated to see that molex connector for quick disconnects. When do we get that for the pickups?

Very nice. Will the neck profile be the exact same as the current Axis or will it be bigger?

Don't sell a kidney, just make sure to mark on your driver's license that you are an organ donor (if you're willing). I see the impact of that everyday with our heart transplant patients.

Sorry for the hijack. So, what's new with the 25th anniversary Axis?????

Organ donors - and in particular Liver donors- are the greatest heroes in the world, at leats to me and my little Tom anyway.

The thread on the bass side is pretty amazing. So much info there. I imagine we tradition-bound skinny stringers aren't getting as much info here, because there is so much more in the way of engineering and Dudley-genius-stuff going on with the bass--stuff that maybe we wouldn't accept in the guitar world. Or am I wrong?

The Anniversary guitar doesn't seem to have as many cool bells and whistles as the bass. It seems like there is more to talk about over on the bass side. I may have to get one of each just to have the bass, because it seems insanely cool with all the stuff/engineering going into it. I'm actually more excited about the bass for all that seems to be going into it. Don't get me wrong, I think this guitar is going to be killer, and I'm excited to keep reading updates as they come. I just think that part of the fun of the ownership of the bass will be owning an instrument with all the amazing little things that will be coming along with it--the pickup switching, the new headstock, the new tuners, etc. It'll be kind of like getting a really cool watch for the engineering that went into it. The guitar doesn't seem to have quite as much stuff to work out. There seem to be many more bass protos in the pics we've seen than guitar protos. Could that be an indication of how much more engineering and prototyping the basses are getting?

No the same stuff is being applied to both. There are more protos because we started with the bass.

The chambering started with the guitar and we liked it som much that we are using oit on the bass.

That bass does look pretty amazing. It's got more switches than an F-18! There definitely is a lot more buzz over on the bass side. I have so many questions (body wood, pickup covers, neck profile, piezo..), but I'm trying to hold back

I'm excited about this one merely based on the forearm contour. I am interested to see how the switching pans out. My dream config for the Axis is one vol, and a three way switch, but my musical horizons are expanding. I've converted to the Silo Special 5-way switch, so maybe this will be a good thing.

+10000. I'm excited about other things as well but finally getting a contour on an Axis style body = coolness.
