Introducing Sterling by Music Man

This is a discussion on Introducing Sterling by Music Man within the Music Man Guitars forums, part of the Gear Talk category; I guess I'll be the first to ask (sorry if it's in the video, I can't view it at work)...... ...

    no nooo,

34 and 35 mean one is a StingRay 4 inspired and the other is a Stingray 5 inspired bass.

the first number 3(4) looks like is there to differenciate the different models

    example:
    SB 14
    Axis20
    Ray 34
    JP 50

looks like those are following some kind of series sequence.

    Yesss!

Now that's what I'm talking about - Every company I've been interested in since I started playing has had basic line of instruments - squier epi's etc.... but I never wanted to play them as they seemed a step down,

These look more along the mid range, how cool is that - if you can't jusitfy forking out for a US Musicman - here's a sterling that'll give you the shape looks etc for presumably 1/3rd the price...... and I bet they'll be as giggable so leave your limited's at home and take these on the road - I might even consider turning to the bass side if they're sub £500.... very cool.

I can't wait to see and try these, I presume they'll be compared to PRS SE's in terms or price?

Very Interesting! Thanks for sharing, BP !

Can you tell us more details, in which way they are different from EBMM´s and which things are the same... for example electronics, neck shapes, wood, neck finished or oiled???

Because it was often a discussion about OLP that there were things different, like neck shape on OLP Luke vs. EBMM Luke.

    Thanks

Great name! From a business side It makes perfect sense. I know the sound and build quality will be top shelf. I hope they fly off the shelfs.

Wow, they look really nice! I've really been gassing for a Silo, I might have to get one of these! Is the quality on par with Music Man? What are the basic differences between EBMM and Sterling?

Mid level as far as the instrument goes or the price? How are these going to go for, are they gonna be available thru like dealers like GC and Dubaldo? Do they come with cases or gig bags?

    Thanx, Glenn |B)

If you can't justify forking out for a Musicman, you don't deserve to own one. Not being able to afford one, is something else entirely.

    *Kidding...*

I like these. And if MIK quality can be judged by the Ibanez versions, then I'd say these are seriously going to be killer budget level guitars.

Thing is, are the hardware (bridges) going to be like the OLPs? Because those were awful. I hope they use better hardware for those. Keep them at PRS SE quiality ranges rather than Ibanez ranges.

I see a Sterling Silo there... Hope they don't do the Silo Spec in that range... I'd like some exclusivity here please. (ok ok... ego talking).
