Can anyone testify to Rosewood v. Mahogany necks JP6 BFR?

Anyone here own both (maybe Pete can attest since he's always around them ) a mahogany neck JP6 BFR and the new rosewood neck JP6 BFR's and attest to the difference?

More vibrant low and hi-tones on the rosewood, with less bass than the mahogany? I find the rosewood to be sturdier than mahogany, but is the feel significantly noticeable?

I'm thinking about investing into a BFR now, and after having seen the Olive Gold Rosewood Neck JP6 BFR on Dubaldo's website, I don't think resist any longer!

    Just my 2 cents:

I can't tell You anything about the necks, but to me the main reason beteween those two guitars is a competely different body wood on a BFR. It has Alder/Mahogany Tone Block/ Maple as opposed to Basswood. The body shape is also a bit different, as is the cutaway. And between those two guitars the sonic differencies are very noticeable.

The Olive Gold Rosewood neck JP you're talking about is "just" a standard JP, that has an all rosewood neck. Just try searching for "standard JP vs. BFR JP". We've had quite some talks about it.

    You are welcome!

And the BFR is a killer - I have a 7-string version right now. Boy oh boy is this thing stunning - absolutely acoustic-like resonance, extreme sustain (it really is extreme - You get a feeling You've got a sustainer installed there. Watch out for feedback). And all that with a clarity and tone that one has to hear to believe. Just gorgeous.

Wait, so your BFR is a rosewood neck?

If you don't mind.... Pics would be greatly appreciated, or a link to a place you've already placed pics.

No, no - I didn't want to confuse You . I have "just" a standard BFR with a mahogany neck - I've added it to my signature.

    Pics will come!
