Thanks to all, Tony said he can't wait for me to disembark at the end of the week, so he will go to the store and try the Silo that he saw on the EB website, he said he likes this one....

But please sit comfortably before you read this...

    ready?

    take a deep breath...

U sure you can handle this?

    ok here goes:

He said if he buys this Silo he will have a Floyd Rose "Edge" fitted on it, same as the one on Vai's Ibby's model.

Ok don't shoot me!! at least he is getting an EBMM but.... it doesn't finish here... he wants DiM&&io on it!

    Ok I am running now.

P.s.: I've emailed Tony telling him it already comes with DiMarzio so he is 99.9% keen on it now.

tell him to try the jp!!
no need for a double locking system when its that stable without!!

let me reiterate: TRY THE JP!
it got the thin flat neck and an insanely stable trem!

    MrM

ps: honda riders are pu..... coff coff... err.. kittykats or h.r.a.p as we said back in the day..
mind you the only honda back then was the goldwing and to call it a sports machine would be an insult
just put flats on the bongo!!
just put roundwounds on your fretless!!

    trussrod adjustment:
less relief / flatter = lower action
more relief / bow = higher action
do NOT use cheap tools to adjust with. they might break and scrape up your pressious!
also, if you are lucky enough to have a 100th namm sr4: the truss works the other way around on that one!

I have told him, not once but 3 times about the JP, but has already told me that the silo p/up configuration it's what he is looking for. But I guess he will try what's available in the store and make his mind up. I told him to promise me not to try any Jap guitar or any pointed headstock one he sees in the shop.

The trem is just as good on the Silo though, except that it's not set up to float like on the JP.

The vintage trem is as good and stable as a floyd...ask Lukather! It can be made to float, again as per the Luke...

The Silo has the same bridge as the JP (only with a different look) and can be floated, with some pretty remarkable results. Have him try that before he goes and dirties up a perfectly good Silo

I guess there's no real way until he actually sits down and trys them each out and see what he likes.

It's easy to say "i like this and that in a guitar" but each guitar produces its own tone, and upon player others, its easy to discover something you didn't know was there.
