    Brass Block

So Im hearing a lot of rave reviews from players that have a brass block instead of steel. I had brass on my PRS and EBMM JP and the harmonics/sustain and resonance were insane! But my Strat or any other guitar with a steel block wasn't quite there. Back in Feb I got my EBMM Silhouette that has a brass block and it has that great sustain resonance and harmonics so Im really thinking that its due to the block. Now Im hearing good things about titanium as well as a block. So I guess Im looking to see if its just me hearing things or does brass really make that much of a difference? Also why does EBMM use brass instead of steel?

Any comments on this topic are appreciated!

I have a few brass blocks on my Floyd's and the tone difference is like night and day! They have a lot more bottom end and tons of sustain! Check out floydupgrades.com. He live up the street from me and can make custom blocks if needed. He is also the inventor of the EVH d-tuna. Adam is a real nice guy and he also makes titanium blocks which are supposed to be even better then the brass blocks!

Steel gets a bad rap cause of crappy pot metal blocks (that are mostly nickel anyway, and found on most modern guitars). True solid steel blocks (like EBs used to have) actually sound amazing, I prefer them to brass.

    i just don't know y'all.
brass is suppose to be better than steel ?????even though it's softer ????????? but titanium is much harder than steel or brass.......but it's suppose to be even better ??????
i still prefer wood wherever possible.

may be time for some voodoo oil & a blindfold.
