MusicMan Endorsements

This is a discussion on MusicMan Endorsements within the Music Man Guitars forums, part of the Gear Talk category; I was just thinking I'd like to see Musicman try to push their endorsements on some of these newer/upcoming bands ...

    MusicMan Endorsements

I was just thinking I'd like to see Musicman try to push their endorsements on some of these newer/upcoming bands out there. You guys have tried I'm sure but there hasn't been a big face with the company since Van Halen left for another manufacturer.

    Thoughts people?

MM certainly does have an imrpressive list of players/endorsee's, but he was asking about new/upncoming players, not players that made their marks a decade or two ago....

    [/devil's advocate]

I didn't realize the art of making great guitars was determined by the "signatures" on the headstock.

My understanding though that since EVH, Petrucci has a well deserved signature guitar where had some input and where the guitar is differentiated from any other model that is in the Music Man line.

I also recall reading that the Petrucci model has outsold any EVH models by a long shot. On that basis alone, I'd surmise that he would qualify as a major artist deserving of his own signature guitar.

I too would like to see more EBMM guitars out there in the up and coming bands as well. I see a lot of the basses but I never see EBMM guitars out there. Most people ask me about mine when they see me playing live and didn't even know they existed. Hell, I went in Richmond City Music last weekend and asked them if they have any EBMM guitars in stock and they told me only basses because the guitars don't sell.

I play modern heavy rock, use only EBMM strings and guitars, and talk EB up all the time. I'm also available for sponsorships if anyone wants to throw one my way Hell don't even give me anything I don't care, just let me brag that I'm sponsored by Ernie Ball

This going to get so loose so quick.

The question really needs to be refined...

Are you asking who the younger/up and coming artists are ??? ie DJ Ashba, Trev Lukather, Johnny Christ, Joe Bonamassa etc etc etc...

    Or

Are you asking who the "big faces" are and have been since EVHs departure?? ie

It's a loaded question as it is currently phrased...

This is what he is asking, ignore the second half of his statement because it's based on speculation not numbers.

It is not based on speculation or numbers, it is based entirely on opinion.

Why don't we just let Kixazz clarify his query?
Because...of his two sentances... I consider them a bit contradictory.

I mean a company supporting up and comers may helps an artist grow/develop over a number of years and as such, may not have that "big face"... But this company certainly does have real players and big names, but there is up and comers too... And let's not forget the battle of the bands/win a full endorsement etc etc

Agreed... the second part is pure obliviousness, while the first is interesting...

There is Benji, but they're not as popular as they were a few years ago.

I would definitely consider Joe Bonamassa an up and coming artist. I don't know a lot of serious guitar players that aren't familiar with and very impressed by him.

Then there is me praying to land an endorsement... LOL

I don't care who plays EBMM as long as it's not the Jonas Brothers...

But the last I checked, John Mayer is a pretty BIG face these days, no?

Personally I really like how EB gives signature guitars to proven and skilled players, it makes me respect the company a lot, and be proud to associate myself with it.
