Thanks Danbut my EVH is blue. Is it possible with this serial number ?
Thanks again.
A lot of times, due to the way we used to hand-stain the finish and the conversion varnish we used, the colors will change over time. Trans black has often become an aqua or turquiose. That's what our database shows - have you had it since it was new? Do you have a picture?

I'm afraid you guitar is not a real Music Man ...
The dot on the fretboard are too big and not black (mother of pearle is not use on EBMM neck)
The back of the guitar is not black
and it obvious that there is decal on the headstock
Toggle is not EBMM Stock (but could have been changed)
I hope you didn't pay too much for it![]()

Hey Wagner,
It would be hard to tell from the pictures if it is a genuine Music Man or not. Try taking the guitar in to the technician at High Tech, our exclusive distributor for France for over 20 years now:

Real hard to know. It is possible that it may have been at least partly at one time, but someone really went overboard on this one. There are so many things wrong I don't know where to begin, but here's a few, some that Threeminutesboy has already pointed out:
The finish is not the way it came from the factory. We have not ever used that shade of translucent blue. The trans blue we use for EVH/Axis and other instruments is a much lighter hue.
The dot inlays are pearl and they left the factory with black. The whole neck seems suspect though - more on that later.
The body on the sides and back are blue. All of the EVH/Axis models have black sides and backs.
The neck: the silkscreeing on the headstock does not appear authentic, in fact, as Threeminutesboy pointed out, it looks like a decal. The neck appears to be finished with some sort of polymer clearcoat, and it has little to no figuring. Nearly all of the EVH's made had a least a little birdseye in the neck, or some sort of figuring in the maple, and we finish the necks with only gunstock oil and wax blend. The frets also appear suspect. In short - the neck does not appear to have come from our factory.
The serial number plate should be inset (flush with the body), but it is not.
The switch is not original, nor the tuners.
If I had to make my best guess - I would guess that somehow somebody got ahold of the neckplate with the serial number and possibly some other parts and carefully reconstructed a Music Man EVH copy.
Sorry about the news - but it is what it is!

But - as Beth wisely advised - contact High Tech and get their input.
