It has Schaller tuners and a strange tremolo bridge.
It also has a HSS-config and it's color is fire red.
    It's a maple neck model.

    Is it made in 1989?

What else can you tell me about that guitar?

    Thanks, Seppo
Seppo, congratulations on your new vintage Silhouette guitar. It was built on Feb 13 1989. The tremolo system, along with the tuners and pickups, would be Schaller, something you don't see on a lot of guitars. It is listed in our database as "special", and this was 6 years before the actual Silhouette Special was introduced, so I have to conclude this was some sort of limited run on these in Fire Red we may have done just for our German distributor, Musik Meyer, which was where this was shipped. Not sure though - details are pretty sketchy here. In any case - bet it's a sweet guitar!

Very close - actually the listed completion date is Halloween October 31 2007. It probably only plays scary licks .....

    HI Dan,

thank you very much for that information! I can't believe that I grabbed up a rare gem...for just 600 Euro including original hardcase and shipping...

Is "Fire Red" the official name for that color?

Can you see in your documentation how many Silos have been made in that color and configuration?

this one has been modified with a Jeff Beck SH-4 at the bridge position. I hope the previous owner will find the original pu...

Actually, back in those days they didn't always name the color officially - Fire Red or Fire Engine Red were sort of nicknames (we officially introduced a short-lived "Fire Engine Red" in 1999), but this one is listed in the database as "Special" which covered a lot of the short-run or limited editions of instruments. Wish we had more details - do you have pictures?
