What is the production date of my guitar?

Hi, I'm in the UK & have a Silhouette in Amber Burst (I think) G07993. It would be great to know more about it, especially the original build date. Many thanks !!! David

David,

Your Silhouette is actually Sunburst (now referred to as Honeyburst), a color we no longer offer on the Silhouette series. The completion date of your guitar is September 30, 1999. It was originally shipped to the U.K. and obviously is still there!

Always thought the 99 after the L meant they were made in 1999 (I know the purple one was), but now I guess I was mistaken.

I started another thread in January and can't seem to get any info (http://www.ernieball.com/forums/musi...er-sport.html). My Axis Super Sport's serial number is G24631. Can someone tell me the year it was made?

andy, no, the 99 is because on the lefties we were kind of counting backwards from L99999 on the serial numbers for a while. Now the numbers are sort of all over the place. Actually, they have pretty much always been all over the place.

Anyway, your guitars' vital information is:

#L99219 was completed September 1, 1999 and was shipped to the UK.
#L99466 was completed on September 11, 2003, and was shipped to L&M Music in Chatanooga, Tennessee.

A couple of September babies!

Chris, this is the right place to learn aboout your beloved Music Man!

Your Axis SuperSport was completed on 5/20/04 and was originally shipped to the boys at The Music Store in Webster, NY.
