I'm sure this guitar has some sort of cool story behind it. I just saw a pic of it posted on sevenstring.org with more than enough speculation on it.
Anyone got any ideas?

This is a custom guitar made for Chris Howorth of In this Moment....The Band was playing our stage all summer and both Chris and Blake selected the Petrucci's model. This guitar features EMG 707 pickups and a simplified volume/switching system...hardtail bridge ect ect...
Both guys loved the guitars and enjoyed using them this summer...
Here is Blake on his JP7 Bahama Blue on the EB stage....
I thought that its not possible to customize any signature models??![]()

Not for the general consumer. But EBMM often customizes models or does one-offs for artists they endorse.

I saw those guys a year ago when they opened for Ozzy. Pretty good band all things considered, I guess, but I think they got a lot of unfair criticism because of the demographic of the audience--some of the older guys didn't seem to take to well to the "new" music. Not saying that ALL old guys are narrow minded, but this set of them didn't seem too pleased.
About the guitar though, that's pretty cool. The Pet is perfect the way it is (for me at least) but he obviously wanted to swap some stuff out--awesome of EBMM to do that for an artist. When I saw them, there was no EBMM content (only Ibanez) but it won't be long before they convert. I mean, how could he even go back to playing an Ibanez after an EBMM? Oh the atrocities!![]()
Looks cool. I'm just surprised the JP sig is still on the headstock.

My dream EBMM: a Dargie JPX with unfinished RW neck, oversized martini inlays, and Gamechanger
As long as JP isnt then I dont think you should concern yourself. All modifications are done with the sig artist approval

I would think JP is flattered and honored that some young dudes want to play his guitar, look up to him, etc. I'm sure they're probably really happy to play JP's guitar. I sure am. So, why wouldn't the JP signature be there?
