    Smile Buy a MM Sabre?

I found a 1978 EBMM Sabre and thought they were quite rare (at least in Norway). Is it one of those guitars you buy because they're rare and nobody else has them, or is it actually good to play and has a good sound? I want a pre-EB

It's one of those decision that only you can take, buy a '78 Sabre or use the money for either a Big Al, or a special SLO Stingray with the Sterling neck or indeed a 25th anniversary?

Those will be a lot more valuable in 30 years than the Sabre I think... but that is only my opinion.

Every bass has to be taken on it's own merits. No matter the make, no matter the time, there are gems that are better than the others and there will be dogs. In all fairness EBMM does a pretty good job of minimizing dogs.

I have a '79 Sabre and for the sound I am after, it delivers better than the EBMM products. You may never run across another.

    It is just damn heavy.

You will find there is no love for the Sabre over here though.
