    Silhouette Special centre position

Hi guys.I have had this guitar[sshb],[trem]: since buying it new in 2001.I really enjoy playing it,having changed the original burr infested saddles to graphtechs, and the nut to a graphtech as well.I am very happy with the way she feels ,but I can*t really get thrilled with the centre pickup position..I use the other 4 all the time. Can anybody help me out here? This guitar is now ALMOST perfect!Tx.

Position 3 gives you coil 2 of the humbucker (the one towards the middle of the guitar) and the neck single coil (in series).

It is possible to wire the toggle so the middle coil can be used separately, or even some other pickup combinations. What type of combination are you looking for?

That's the way the SSS ones are wired up, so it's definitely a usual thing. Will you like it? Most SSS guitars have pos #3 as the middle single, so find a Strat or something locally and see if you dig the tone. It'll be in that ballpark.

Personally I prefer the B & N sound in pos #3, more of a Tele vibe. But it's just a different flavour. But it's not difficult to wire up, so if you're handy with a soldering iron you could make that change. Or have your tech do it.
