Steve Morse last night in Atlanta

Flew from Texas to Atlanta to see the Steve Morse Band yesterday on their final show of this tour.

    in short, it was AWESOME!

I had expected it to be good and solid but it far surpassed that expectation! It was really really really good! I got there in time to claim my spot right at the stage in front of Steve, no barrier either so very nice, could see everything up close. Nice to see the #1 Morse, in all its battered glory

Also midway through the show his son Kevin came on to play Time Junction, dont know if they did that every night or not but it was pretty cool anyways.

I think my personal favorite part of the show was Cruise Missile, I just love that song and was really glad they played it!

    Here's the setlist:

    Name Dropping
    Vista Grande
    On the Pipe
    Highland Wedding
    Ice Cakes
    Relentlessly Encroachment
    Night Meets Light
    John Deere Letter
    Baroque'n Dreams
    Cant remember this acoustic song
    Time Junction
    Sleaze Factor
    Here and Now and Then
    Rising Power
    Cruise Missile

    Drum Solo -> Cruise Control

And in case I hadn't mentioned it yet: IT WAS AWESOME

And I also caught no less than TWO picks from Steve, one after the intial set and one after the encore (and I didnt have to kick anyone over for it either, they were heading right for me. He was throwing out a whole bunch at the end)

I didnt dare bring my Morse with me though so no signature on it, but thats ok.

It was great! Maybe only negative thing was that, on the one hand I was so inspired to want to play guitar right at that moment, on the other hand, I also felt like burning all my guitars and never touching one again since there was just no way I could ever play like that yet he makes it seem so easy hehe

    Thanks for the review!

It's been a while since I've seen the SMB (births of kids) but Steve and the guys always put on a jaw-droppingly good show. I've seen many concerts, but the moments of out-of-this-world inspired performances that are forever burned in my memory are all courtesy of Steve. I'm glad to hear they did On The Pipe.

Tell me about it! With enough years of disciplined practice, mortals like us may get closer than we give ourselves credit for. At least that's what I tell myself, hehehe. Of course, I'll be an old man by the time that happens!

I was there last night also. I guess I was about 10 feet behind you.
It's amazing how much music those 3 guys can produce!
The whole show was great and it was very cool to see his son come out and play. He's about a full head taller than Steve. You could tell he was having a good time and that Steve is a proud Pappa.
