Limited Edition Luke II 'v' Luke 1

    Hi everybody,
I really need your advise! I want to get a Luke 1 but the only way I can afford to get one is to sell/trade my '2005 Limited Edition Buttercream LUKE II with Piezo'. I was just wondering if any of you guys have played the Luke 1 and does it have the same great playability / sound as the LUKE II's? Also, am I mad thinking of getting rid of my luke II? I've just become obsessed with the LUKE 1 since I seen Mr. Lukather play one the Los Lobotomy's DVD! I want the Pearl Red one.........please help ..thanks

I'd have to say yes ..you'd be mad (only my opinion lol) That Buttercream is a rare beauty, particularly with the Piezo. My understanding is that Luke specified the Vintage trem over the Floyd because he found it a better system, but there are others on here who will know better than me.

Its amazing what you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit

Keep the buttercream Luke. Those limited edition's are nice and I bet there weren't many with the piezo.

Remember, there is a reason Luke himself eventually decided that the Luke II was the way to go. I don't know if he's even played a Luke I since the IIs came out.

I've never seen him play a buttercream Luke but on the Shankar & Ginger video on YT he's got an white matching piezo Luke? And buttercream is sexier than that!

Keep the NEWEST version ...Luke himself is moving forward, as is his guitar....more EB/MM innovation's on the newer Luke....everything he liked about the Luke 1 and than some!.....and that is a beauty to boot!!! and Probably quite rare with the Piezo!
