I watched some of the Inside the Actors Studio episode that had Bon Jovi perform some acoustic versions of their songs..."interesting" is a good description.
Ritchie seems like a nice guy though.

tease....
I think it's great, is it me or does 2009 seem like the year that almost everybody started playing EBMM's - there just seems to be loads of players (that we know and are famous n stuff) that are dumping their traditional instruments in favour of EBMM's -

i think they ditched the Advicee they got from people who don't actually play guitar... like owning a marshall and a les paul, and such other nonsense; in favor of the ultimate gigging guitars, music man.
a lot of quirks are tolerated in the sake of recording, but who in his right mind wouln'd want the advantages of a comfortable guitar which stays in tune on the stage?
It's definitely a great thing the Gold Roller gets some extra exposure...I'd love to get my hands on one!
Don't get me wrong...I absolutely LOVE my MusicMan guitars and I favor them over most of the guitars I've come across in my life so far but for me there's nothing wrong with a Marshall or a Les Paul...favoring EBMMs mustn't make other guitars "nonsense"...

how many times have we heard of specific amp/guitar combinations as being the ultimate in tone? all this is based on the sound of the GUITARISTS who played them. to the hapless initiate, the idea of owning gear in order to improve the sound is too appealing to leave unexploited in the eye of the seller.
edit: i'm talking about the cliches not the guitars. and even if les pauls are great tone machines, alot of people find them a wee bit heavy for intensive gigging.

Bon Jovi was on the Ellen DeGeneres show today and Bob was playing the gold roller...it looked great, but it didn't get enough air time.

It's not just you. Every time I see a band on a talk show or a video, I always look at what guitars they are playing. I’m mostly seeing a lot of bass players playing EBMM basses.
I saw them as well on Ellen. The Gold Roller got no close up TV time at all, the only camera time were group shots with Bob playing in the back.
Wednesday morning is the Today show.
actually, james hetfield isfollowed by david gilmour. dave mustain has gone up the ladder alot in the last week too. oh, and let's not forget Muhammed Suicmez and the guys from opeth. JP my fave shredder but that's it. soundwise, i like the Mustaine Sound but a bit rougher.
but yeah, it's easy to say stuff like that in a thread like this. but if you stick a les paul in JPs hands, it'll still sound like john petrucci, albeit a frustrated one![]()
Saw some of the Today show concert this morning.
Serious camera time for the Gold Roller. Not only on the wide angle full band shots, but also the angle of seeing Bob Bandiera over Jon's Shoulder during the a lot of the primary vocals. He also got a solo shot, starting with the guitar and panning back to a full body fairly early in the first song. Seemed like the cameraman and the director both liked the guitar. And I must say, it did look good.
