I think it's just a cunning way for BP to sell more BBQ's later on
"take maple neck, rub with luke hotsauce and put in on BPQ"

Pardon me, for invoking another brand name beside EBMM but.....
Are roasted EBMM necks similar to Suhr vulcanized necks, in respect to the fact that by "roasting" the neck, it makes the neck become more stable to warpage and changing climate conditions?
Understandably, the aesthetic reasons alone make it worth it. I was just wondering if my above theory might also be true?
I don't know if stability has ever been the issue at MusicMan. This is more of a cosmetic thing I think... after all it is going to be an option on some models. Sure it may enhance stability, but look at how BP has defended his use of and track record with Birdseye Maple. I think this is just another case of EBMM pushing the limits of what people think is possible for them to do...

I was just about to post this same thing about the Vulcanized idea.

As stated here, it means the neck would be impervious to moisture and humidity, which is pretty sweet.
It's not about it being an issue for Musicman. Most of all guitars are susceptible to changing climate conditions. Although, as DTJPPR said,....the reason Suhr does this is to make a neck impervious to moisture and humidity.
So, I was just wondering if EBMM had that in mind, when doing it as well. I wasn't suggesting that EBMM had issues with neck stability. I was just thinking that by EBMM roasting their necks, that it must make them more stable as well.

My guess is that the "roast" only refers to the visuals and that is doesn't have anything to do with better structural integrity or anything. Just pigments and laquer (if any). Only one to shed true light is EBMM though![]()

Sorry, but anything slightly food related is asking for trouble round here! With how popular BBQ/hot sauce related talk has been on the forum lately, you are lucky you got a sensible response at all
After all, let us all remember this: The most important things in life are food and guitar gear... maybe I have my priorities wrong?
I cant tella defference with the tone...could it be more stable possible...Ill let you know with more miles....
As far as the humor Isnt it ok in this day and age to have a little fun?
