OC whatever helps you score points you run with it. I've seen pics of the blue, it's a nice color.

I need help, I think I screwed up...I read somewhere that if you place vaseline on the nuts, it holds the tune better, so I proceeded to unlock the nuts and then I heard 'twang', 'twang'...damn there goes the high E string...so now I need to replace the strings...which isn't a huge issue, my question is how the heck do those locking machine heads really work? I'm afraid to tighten them down too much. Also do I need to loosen them to tune the guitar? Actually now I'm not even sure how to replace the strings...I guess I'm not used to these...please help!
I need to peep a SUB. The lockng machines aren't like Schallers on there....I thought they self lock. Hmmm.

OK I think I have figured it out and hopefully other SUB players can use this info. First off what I just experienced is perhaps the most enjoyable thing besides playing...I used to detest changing strings but on this baby, changing strings is no more difficult than slipping on a clean pair of fresh undies. With the locking nut, things are a breeze...ok first off I thread the string onto the tuners eye, pulling on the slack, then tightening the nut on the tuner. Then I simply wind, and truthfully speaking I never really needed the winder cause the nut grips so well that the string came into tuning within seconds. Presto, and I assume that the nuts remain locked while playing and tuning...the only time you need to loosen them is when you need to change a string...wow these EB axes are simply mind boggling!
Yeah the clamp on the tuner will keep it locked....The higher end MM's have the schaller locking keys w/ the knob on the back of the machine head. those work equally as well.
