They are made in China. I've seen them pretty universally sold for $200. Their list price is something like $350 or something similar. They are worth their sale price but not the list price.

They look like an Axis but they don't feel even remotely like an Axis. The necks are totally different. Axis=10" radius and a fairly narrow fretboard. OLP=15" radius and a fairly wide fretboard.

From what I've noticed the OLP pickups are fine but not identical (as is stated by many who own OLP's) to the Axis pickups.

Over all, they're fine. But don't get one thinking that you're pulling a fast one on Music Man by getting an Axis for $200. You're not.

It's a bit like thinking a Squire, which can be a good playing, decent sounding guitar, is as good as a Custom Shop Strat. It just isn't. Even though they look almost identical.

    Yep...what hbucker said..

I owned one and I will attest to their durability. I travel quite alot and my OLP has been run over and played well. It finally gave up the ghost (neck snapped) on my trip to San Diego.

It was a great road guitar and only because it allowed me to practice and not worry about damaging my wonderful EBMM JP's....

I think you need to play the crap out of your SUB.....you just can't put down an EBMM.....My "garbage" guitars sit in the closet when I am home and I play my EBMM for hours on end......my 2 pennies.

Glad you agree......just playing an EBMM puts me in a different world. I had Kbaim over one weekend and he brought his Axis SS and I could not put it down! It's the addiction I tell you...they must put something in those guitars at the factory to get us hooked on 'em......oh yeah, pride and quality craftsmanship....plus the CS can't be beat.....
