    John Petrucci Help!

So I bought a JP7 Mystic Dream (not bfr) and it's being made/still shipping so I'm expecting it in the next two months but I'm just wondering...WHAT SHOULD I KNOW so that I don't regret or damage this guitar in any ways...especially about the outputs and piezo and such. I usually take really good care of my guitars but of course I want to make sure I don't just plug it in through any cable and to any amp and all of a sudden my piezo won't work or something like that. Any tips or things I should be aware of or things to look out for? Thanks!

...just don't throw it off stage to the crowd

Actually there's no special way to "treat" the piezo output, you just have to find the it sounds best to your ears...and there's loads of advice here on the pond. Just take a deep search

You'll be fine! Just remember that there's 2 outputs, one for pickups and Pie-zo, one for just p/u's - no Pie-zo. I thought my Pie-zo wasn't working until I realized I had connected the cable to the wrong output

If you've been good caring for guitars before, including floating-trem guitars, you'll be fine. Just keep it setup well and don't smash it on stage.

One hint: When not playing, remove the cable from the guitar. If you leave it in, it'll drain the 9v battery.

Stay away from monster cables. We've seen a few get stuck in the output jacks.

Nothing that you probably don't already know, or can't find on the FAQ's portion of the site.

The only different thing may be care/maintenence of the neck; as the natural finish is going to need a little different care than a standard finished neck.
