I thought all (newer/newish) Silo's had birds eye maple necks......is this not the case?

By the way - heard Johnny Hiland at Music Live when no one knew who the hell he was......he just turned up at a stand and just rocked - a great addition to the MM roster!
As the EBMM lineup has expanded and the availability of birdseye maple has contracted they've been using the plain maple for the Silos and Silo Specials and saved the birdseye for the other models.

I've had 2 Silo Specials - a 2004 and a 2007 - both with plain maple necks, so I guess the switchover happened before November 2004 when my first Silo Special was produced. I suspect my 2010 will be plain as well. And I can guarantee there is no birdseye at all on my recently acquired Axis SS, just rosewood goodness

Hey BP Happy New Year! It looks like it's off to a great start for EBMM. Johnny sure picked a great guitar to play. I'm loving my Sils and I am proud to be here

The more I think about the fact that he left PRS--and his own signature model--to come to EBMM and play the Silhouette, the more it amazes me.

Kudos to BP and Dudley for creating such a great instrument!
