I'll just put an end to this before it gets weird and I get more PM's asking questions.
This has nothing to do with money, the guitar, EBMM, or anything else. A couple of things happened and fell into place that allowed me to do something nice for Scott.
I, as I have mentioned before I injured my picking arm playing about 16 years ago. In between the time I ordered the Cherry Burst and it's arrival I found something that was incredibly comfortable for me to play (not that the BFR wasn't) and am getting two of them.
This has nothing to do with that companies quality being better or custom options, or whatever other silly things people want to think. I am keeping my 7 string and I love the BFR's and think EBMM's are incredible.
This is simply a matter of finding something of equal quality that is easier on my injury than my BFR's. The JP6 with the scoop is also a very comfy guitar for me, but didn't have all the wood options I prefer. I will continue to purchase EBMM's and hope to someday see a lefty Reflex and JPX.
When you've spent as long as I have rehabbing an injury, having it reoccur, being forced to change your picking style as a Sophmore at Berklee and having to spend a whole year taking theory and songwriting because you can't physically play, and having to reinvent your technique just to be able to be half the player you used to be, you jump at an instrument that makes it easier for you to play even if it's just a slight difference.
Now can we all get back to enjoying EBMM's.![]()

I still think that top sucks.

For the record, I'm only soulless because I sold mine to get my first BFR
Indeed it does.
And Jonah, it's great you found something more comfortable to play. And a really nice thing you did for Scott, too. As long as you stick around I won't hold it against you that you sold a guitar with one of the most amazing tops I've seen![]()

Better Scott plays it and shows it to the world than I keep it in a case. He will expose lot's of people to that sick top and EB's top notch craftsmanship with his band.
I'm not going anywhere, I still own one BFR, will buy more EB's in the future, and I like this forum and the people a lot.
