    music man silhouette

Hello I'm new here (and my English is not so good, Sorry).
I would like to receive more details on this music man silhouette
Things like age, pickups, wood (alder or ash) and what kind of bridge is this(Is it still manufactured?).
Actually I'd be happy to receive any kind of information on this guitar

    Nice.

Is there a technical reason why MM doesn't make 24 fret guitars with a single coil neck pickup anymore?

I can't give you the exact age; it is a 1980s model. The Silhouette was introduced in 1986 and that bridge was discontinued circa 1990/1991. The 1986s (and maybe the 1987s also) had the serial number stamped onto the back of the headstock instead of stamped in the neck plate. If you follow the others advice and post the serial number int he thread someone from EBMM should be able to give you a better date.

The bridge was made by Schaller; here in the USA it was used first by Schecter circa 1984-85. The Schecter version was also sold by them as an aftermarket product and had their name stamped on the metal piece that screws onto the body right behind the bridge pickup. As far as I can remember EBMM was the last company to use that bridge; it hasn't been made for about 20 years.

Not sure on the wood either. However, I am sure that your new Silo is a fine example of the early models; enjoy!

take a look at this thread
    http://www.ernieball.com/forums/musi...ilhouette.html

Looks to me like Schaller pickups, Schaller tuners, in addition to the bridge. Swimming Pool rout on body. Body probably alder, although the grain on yours looks a tad like ash. Is it light? that would be the clue. Also CTS pots and switch.
