Is EB moving away from the Piezo pickup option?

I don't want to start any trouble and I really don't want to seem like I want another million options but I had to ask. Is the piezo being phazed out on new products. It was not on the LE 09,the 25th or any BFR other than the JP and AL, it is not on the GR and not on the HH AL. I love the Piezo (I am sure I represent such a small percentage of the puplic that I don't even make it on to statistic scales) I am just wondering if I might need to just start programming my self to not build up hopes for piezo on new models.

I can't and won't answer for EBMM. Nothing has been put out saying it is being phased out. Pops might chime in to put his word on it. Who knows.... They continue to surprise us and it might be available for the models down the road you mentioned.
"Welcome to the addiction!" is now patented by Koogie2k......if used by anyone other than Koogie2k....you must mail him a US nickel for each time said/typed or signed.......

You're right about customers buying piezo's being in the minority. They're not being phased out.

If I remember it correctly, there was a comment in another thread that piezo will always be an option on the "standard" models, but hardly on the "special" ones (such as BFR, LE etc.), as these are more complex construction-wise anyway. I guess, BFR customers don't necessarily want a special guitar to be "spoiled" by the piezo alterations...therefore it wouldn't really sell. And we all know what BP thinks about guitars that don't sell

Piezo on a chambered guitar, IE the Reflex and JPX are all hot topics as of the moment.

Confirmed for the JPX, not sure on the Reflex.

IMHO, there's low demand on the piezo, and there's low demand on rare models (LEs, anniversaries, BFRs) so if you combine the two, it doesn't make sense to invest on an option that would sell so little. All JP guitars have the piezo option because JP himself uses it. In fact the option they take away from the BFRs is NOT to have the piezo

Just one small correction - You are wrong on low demand for BFR. BP said a couple of weeks ago it's the biggest selling product line right now.

As for piezo - I don't believe it's going anywhere. It stays on the JP, it stays as an option on many other guitars. The hype and novelty is gone, but the piezos are not.

By the way there wasn't a 2009 LE - since EBMM was doing the 25th Anniversary models they didn't do an LE.

If I'm remembering correctly the 2008 LE didn't have a piezo option because of the gold hardware - EBMM didn't have gold plate piezo saddles for the hard tail bridge and regular vintage trem. I believe the JP's did have the piezo available because the koa BFR has both gold hardware and the piezo bridge. I also believe that was true of the 2006 LE also.
