I’ve never even seen a Linex computer. I don’t know much about them. I know they cost alot less but I don’t know if they would run the programs I need for art. In my field of graphic design, Macs are the computer of choice.

Die-hard PC user here (laptop). Mac's advertising kills any interest in any of their products for me.
    LMAO!! PC laptop and desktop.

I've got a bit of everything at work ... FreeBSD (which shares a lot with OSX), Linux, Solaris, Windows, Mac.

That said, Windows most of the time for me. Mac is great if you want an easy experience out of the box, most things just work right. But I find it a bitch to tweak to get it where I want it. By contrast, Windows is bloated and frustrating out of the box, but you can tweak it exactly the way you want it, which works for me.

Btw, two Mac repairs last week for friends. Don't tell me they don't have problems ... they're just harder to fix when the fit hits the shan. (Fun stuff trying to take one of those one piece iMacs apart to replace a hard drive ...)

Anyway, at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you're using so long as you can get your work done. S'all just tools of varying shades.

Right now it's on a Dell laptop. Come tax time I'll be getting an iMac or a Mac laptop.

15" macbook pro here... I've had the computer for just over a year. I'm glad I made the switch. I've had zero problems with it. I got applecare so my mind would be at ease just incase... never had to call them or go into the store for a repair.

13" MacBook running snow leopard... thing is 3yrs old, due for a replacement when i can afford it. It still handles running a lot of tracks and audio fx in Logic though, so I can't complain.

Ha, that's the truth, I've seen various benchmarks that prove just that...

Not to add fuel to the soon to be conflagration in this thread...
