I totally agree! If it weren't for my need of Logic Pro, I'd have already done that myself.

    +1.

And again though it isn't legal, and does require choosing particular pieces of hardware, ProjectOSX86 makes it possible to run the Mac OS on a PC.

I'm one of those morons who tries to run Pro Tools on a PC. Thankfully over the last month they've really decided to add much more support for Windows. It does suck to have the power to run something but not have the OS supported well.

Funny. I remember when Logic was PC Only. I've been using it since then and made my switch when Apple acquired Emagic.

Hehe...I'm going to continue to make sure this conversation stays friendly.

I do agree that PC prices vary greatly - but on average if you compare Apples to non-Apples (), I think you'll find that on average, Apple really is charging quite a bit more for their hardware than even the better PC builders.

I also disagree on the purdy part Frank - I have built some pretty cool looking PCs - and I have many more options and add-ons available to me than you do.

I agree we should keep this friendly. The thread will likely get out of hand unless we all keep an open mind. Just like the rest of the internet does about this subject.

I said this a couple of pages ago. This could of got out of hand as people are as passionate about their computer manufactures as they are with their guitars.

So far everyone has been well behaved. There has been a bit of jabbing but all in good fun.

We are a good enough group of artists to keep this level headed.

    Urban Legend

Bill Gates is famous for giving the world an ‘easy to use’ computer interface programs from his mega company Microsoft. For anyone who has ever lost a long report or even just a few important lines of an email you know this ‘easy to use’ programming is breakable, hack-able, and certainly buggy. It’s enough to make you wonder about Mr. Gates, and it appears at least a few have since his name has been vilified to the upmost point. The Urban Legend is that Bill Gates is Satan himself. Now this rumor has run the course with those folks who spend their time sitting at their computer. It involves a formula which alleged proves the master of Microsoft is actually the Prince of Doom. They’ve gone all the way down the nuts and bolts of programming—ASCII code otherwise known as American Standard Code for Information Interchange to crack Gate’s own programming and came up with an interesting figure. Looking at the former Microsoft head guy’s full name they noted that Bill is the third of this family using the same moniker making him Bill Gates the third or III. Converting Bill Gates III into ASCII and then adding up all the numbers, they got the infamous number of the beast—666. Coincidence? How is Windows 7 working out for you?

No joke. ONE day after asking my question on this forum, my PC at home gets infected with spyware. I haven't had a virus on my computer in at least five years. Ended up staying up formatting my hard drive, watching the snow come down. This could be a sign.

    Solaris 10 @ EBMM
However new servers just arrived and switching back to Red Hat shortly. RHEL5 FTW. Yay! Gonna get me some Google Chrome.

    Ubuntu 9.10 @ Home

And I won't get into all the other miscellaneous servers we have but they are either Solaris 10, Red Hat or Ubuntu.
