How to remove JP6 tremolo arm

    Hi!

I need some help how to remove the JP's tremolo arm. I searched the forums and found some instructions, but still didn't get it. Can you please post some pictures of the tremolo cavity with the screws that hold the arm?

Note: I am aware that the case is designed to hold the guitar with the arm on, I just have no use for the tremolo at all and rather get the arm out.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if I'm misreading your question, but all I do is pull the bar straight out. Nothing else is needed.

yeah its a clip in tremelo mate. just pull the bar firmly out in a straight line. otherwise u need to use a bit to much force . if u want to adjust the trem bar tightness etc there are allen grub screws in the trem block.

How hard I need to pull? Also, is it necessary to unscrew the two allen screws (I guess not)?

    Thanks again....

Here's a video showing how to do it. I know it's an AL but it's the same procedure on yours.

DR5Guy you could not have posted this at a better time.lol I had bought a JP6 earlier this year and just did not connect with the neck, so I just put it away for the last 6 months till my son found it and he loves it.

Anyway the other night I picked it up and started playing some arpeggios on it as I need surgery and cant really play right now, but I noticed how great this guitar is to sweep on. So I went to take the arm off and I could not get it out. I have 2 EVHs and an Axis but figured this trem system might have it locked in as I pulled pretty hard and nothing.

I could not get in touch with my tech and was almost tempted to ask on the board and now this.lol You and I both know the arm does not come out like the way that guy pulled on the AL. I would guess because they both never had the arm out before, the initial one must take some effort but I felt I was going to break it if I pulled to hard and it was being held in different. Anyways thanks I have it out.lol

pull it straight out.. it ain't Excalibur!

However, try to focus the pressure as close to the 'elbow' of the bar as possible (where the bar bends downward into the cavity). If you pull from the tip of the bar you'll be pulling it somewhat skewed from the leverage.

Well i'm sorry to disagree - the trem arm on my pet and on my AL pull out exactly the same way.

The guy in the video is incredibly strong, and you ... are not.

    ( Just kidding. Sort of.)

Hee Hee - I'm John Petrucci's fitness coach

Just done another video clip - here it is showing "That Guy" removing and inserting trem arms on Als and a Pet-I don't see what the problem is?
