Trust your ears and hands when buying any guitar... it's about what YOU want, and what YOU want shouldn't be based on what other people like.

Because it's an evolution of the same guitar. If the BFR is the next step in the evolution of the perfect guitar and better in every way than the original, then of course I care and of course it effects my decision.

Doesn't that make sence to you?

Just because its perfect for JP doesn't mean it'll be perfect for you though. With every guitar, I would try out the ones you can get your hands on, try them out and see what appeals to you.

Also, I don't necessarily think that EB and JP built the BFR to be better than the original, I think they just wanted something different. The standard JP's and BFR's are amazing instruments and I'm sure the JPX will be no different.

    Not really.

Basswood original JP's vs. BFR JPs vs. JPx's... I don't believe that any one of them is inherently better than the other one. They're all just different.

The composition of tonewoods, for example, is an important thing to consider and of course it affects your decision, as it should. But because the "next evolution" of the JP has different woods in it, it doesn't mean it's inherently better than the old one is or was. Just different.

I think what you're trying to say is that you're concerned about which incarnation of the JP to buy because you want one that fits YOU best, and you think this next one might be "IT" for you, but you're not sure. Am I right?

Nice! John has always seemed very knowledgeable.

Wait. This doesn't mention a maple top. Is there no maple top? I thought there was a maple top.

Also, it says "Liquid-Fire" instead of "LiquiFire."

ok you are...hehehehehe all being little b!tches

WE get exactly 10 minutes at namm to give you something...as for the background and his clothes...I dont think JP has worn a white shirt since junior high gym class
sound clips would have happened if his rig wasnt in New York...these were filmed at the NAMM show. We would never post sound clips with anything but his rig can you imagine the critique we all would get even if we explained it wasnt his rig?

Evolution of the perfect guitar for JP...not necessarily for you. For instance, they changed the scoop on the BFR because JP has massive forearms now in comparison to when the original model was built. This is something that is very relevant to JP, but for a lot of people (especially the skinny nerds on this forum ) this is not an issue.
