+1..I was going to get these but this is what deterred me, and the fact that they are always on the guitar...get Schallers..the best IMO...better than Dunlops.

this solution looks nice and easy.
my only Q is how safe is that plastic from the lock, I mean can we trust it to be a safe one enough ?

EDIT: To TS, you can try Planet Waves' Planet Lock Straps which can slip on and off the guitar easily without modification.

As long as you aint doing guitar swings and other wild guitar stunts, it will hold pretty well(as it did for my Les Paul at that time). I changed to cliploks just for convience sake with the added security as a bonus.

wrap a layer of electrical tape around the clip-locks to prevent scratches, thats how i used to do it on my other guitars

It's probably better to use Gaffer Tape. The electrical tape will ooze adhesive if it gets too hot, then you'll have a mess on your strap and/or guitar.

I swear I've never had an issue with the clips scratching my guitars. Especially on my EBMM guitars. I'd figure after a year of playing my BFR JP7 almost daily there would be some issue, but there's not.

I'm sort of surprised to hear of anyone with issues using a cliplock on an EBMM with the poly finish.

For what it's worth, I installed a cotton cliplock to my JP7 a month or two ago.

The strap screws that were in the guitar were significantly longer than what came with the cliplocks. I didn't have to even think about drilling.

Just got my first JP6 today and I installed the cliplock in about 2 minutes. As JP7Nomad above said, the screws that were in the guitar were significantly longer than what came with the cliplocks.

My only issue right now is that the strap is quite long. I did set it up to the shortest possible way. It will try it out that way for a couple of days but I'm really thinking contacting Dimarzio to see if they could ship a shorter one.

I contacted Dimarzio this morning and this is the reply I got from them:

"If you wish to send us your tried-on-but-not-really-used-much ClipLock strap, we can shorten it for you at no charge."

But they won't send me a shorter one for trade.

Yep. Scratched my Ibanez RG750 neck by this same mistake long time ago so I got worried about the Dimarzios. They are nice but not fun if the neck has scratches.

hmmm, strange, with the new guitar I will receive 2 dimarzio cliplocks )
I'll see if they damage the guitar or not, but I'm thinking that in the music man form fit case the only part damaged can be the guitar body and for that I'm thinking about wrapping a thin piece of cloth around the cliplock before puting it in the case :-)
anyone tried that? seems the easy way to go
