    Dimarzio Cliplock on JP?

    Hi,

2 Q for those that have Dimarzio Cliplock on theirs JPs .

1.is it difficult to install on guitar , are any adjustments in the those guitar holes depth or width needed?
    2. are the dimarzio cliplock straps coming with all necessary stuff for installing on guitar? or I have to buy them separately (screws and the others things you need for that) ?

    thanks a lot!

its got all you need. super straight forward. just keep in mind for some reason the dimarzio straplocks have really long straps. i keep mine all the way up and its still a little low for my tastes

really? that might be a problem...I am a short guy 1.70 m, and I like to keep the guitar high somehow like JP does, it feels more comfortable to play, especially licks

1)No. If you got depth problems, use a matchstick. There are instructions on the package itself.

2)Yes.You'll need a screwdriver. Thats all.

I've heard Dimarzio does carry shorter cliploks but not all stores carry them and if yours is too long, you can send it to dimarzio and they'll send back a shorter one. Otherwise, you can always sew it. It you're too lazy to do any of those. a simple knot will do the trick!

Have them on all of mine as well, easy insatllation, work perfect, and aren't too long for me (I'm only 1,73 myself). If You go all high You'd get it somewhere near what JP wears them.

One thing about the DiMarzio Cliplocks, the attaching screws are bigger than any other straplock system I've tried. They blow out the factory holes.

If you decide to change back to another type you'll have to use the toothpick method to refill the holes to hold the smaller screws.

If you call them they will send you a shorter strap if you send back your old strap. I think they also will sell it to you outright. I'm not sure why they don't sell both sizes at retail locations.

I use cliplock straps on all of my guitars. All you need is a #2 Phillips head screwdriver and 5 minutes.

I brought mine to an alteration shop to have it shortened. Worked fine but the plastic part still ended up almost on my shoulder so ended up taking it off. I'm 5'10" for reference and I play pretty high up.

I've had those issues with the screws and holes on all my guitars, until I started to use the original screws to install the ends.

thanks all so much for help

so until now we have this:

    1. it may not go to short , or at least as short as I would need to play it high somehow like JP does , me being 1,70 m tall
    2. it comes with all you need to install, but some of you said that the screw are to long for the hole in the JP 6

my Q, can I use the screw that are now on the guitar holes? I suppose they are similar
