Of SMB I would start with "Southern Steel" or "Coast to Coast", Of Dixie Dregs I would obviously recommend "What if" .

my pick would be the dixie dregs live album called bring 'em back alive! hard to find...but their cover of zep's kashmir and their own divided we stand are worth the price alone.
i've found a lot of folks seem to like the first things they've heard from steve the best...in my case Unsung Heroes...which would be my second choice.
