It pays to support your local shops

I just took a mad dash to my local mom and pop store to pick up an Orange 2x12 extension cab and as i'm paying for it my salesman that i've worked with for years said to hold tight he had something for me.
So i'm taking the cab out to my truck and he walks up and gives me a BFR t-shirt and said thanks for all the support over the years and i know it's way too big but i knew you'd like it.

    SWEETNESS!!!

    Nice one!!
I just supported a local shop in Swansea Today and bought an Electro Harmonix Soul Preacher (Compressor).
Paid just a little more than on - line but when you take into consideration the postage, there's not much in it.

my shop typically does small stuff for those that are "regulars" but i was shocked that he pulled one to save for me... that's what caught my attention.

every interaction i've had on here with the dubaldo boys it's been very pleasant and can understand why they get great support from the knuckleheads.

i guess the point was if you have the opportunity support your local shop though you might pay more in the short end of things- but in the long run they know what we like and that we'll keep comin back and even if it's just a shirt, extra strings, picks, etc... they appreciate the business.

I visit a certain music store here in Toronto and I’m always greeted by my favourite salesmen when he’s there

Over the years I have got to know him like a friend. He has thrown me T-shirts, key chains, picks & strings. There little things but they make you feel good inside.

    Good stuff, Peter!

I kinda wish we had some good local shops around here. The best ones are all long gone.

Kinda makes me want to investigate opening my own shop...

Thanks for supporting your local shop! We small fries have to really work hard to stay on top, and there are organizations out their like AIMM to help us out on figuring out marketing and getting special deals/limited editions guitars, but it all boils down to the consumer! Repeat customers are our best friends!

it's about the relationships that are built between the consumer and retailer that really make the difference in the sale. Even if it's a few bucks more it's that relationship that makes it worth it all.

So thank you to all the small business owners for fighting through the poor economy to keep giving back to your customers. I would hate to lose that connection and friendship i've built over the years.
