I guess my question would be, how high could we go for an overseas made guitar and would the buying public go for it? Me thinks a consumer if they must have a piezo would go for a higher end guitar and pay the higher price associated with a USA made guitar. Would you guys pay $900 for an Indonesian made guitar?
    Hey Pat-
there's another company making over seas guitars (can i mention names?) but anyway i saw one of their SE models for just about a grand and almost died...
For me personally if i'm looking at spending 1k for a guitar i'm going to be looking at the USA made versions and i'd be willing to go used at that point. Not that a 1k overseas guitar is unheard of... i would just choose to look at other options.
I really like the price point of the Sterlings... i'm one of those guys who found this forum because he bought an OLP back in the day and it was the gateway to my EBMM guitars. Sterling by MusicMan is a far superior product in my opinion than OLP so i feel that there is a greater potential of a Sterling user eventually buying an EBMM or even a EBMM user buying a Serling as a second guitar.
But that's just my 0.02 on the whole thing...

I echo Peter’s thoughts. 1K for an overseas made guitar is a tad steep IMHO. The Piezo would be nice but not at that cost.

not saying it will be that price, but point out that the more you add to a guitar drives the costs up and really need to see if what we make is even competitive if it gets in that price point.

most certainly- i was thinking towards the extreme of price points. I've really been impressed with the Sterling line so far and have pointed friends to check them out as a first guitar. They're beyond incredible... and i'm sure whatever you decide to do you will find a way to make the price point work for you and the consumer... keep up the great work Pat.
