it's an import amp, it's valve, and it doesn't have enough gain for metal. give it a good testing. i own a thunderverb 50. smoked the recto :P mwahahahahha

hmm, i've heard plenty of good things about the terror. but honnestly, it's a good thing u can borrow it from a friend. ur the only one who can decide on tone. let me hear what u think of it.

It is a great little head, actually and it sounds great but I was just about to buy it for my son who plays guitar, when we learnt of the Vox Night Train which is in the same ball park but has a few more features first of all a 3 band EQ and 2 channels as opposed to the Tiny Terror which only has one tone knob and just the one channel, and since we also liked the sound better than the Orange, we went for that one in the end, if you get a chance to try it, you will be surprised too.

Orange head is a fine little amp, many small amps on the market nowdays, cant say ever got a good clean out of an Orange TT, the Vox NT is a cool little amp, as is the Egnater rebel 20, Mesa has a new lunch box out and check out a ZT lunchbox, cool amp, can get clean and well very affordable.

Ouch, the Tiny Terror is not really all that great. I have an Ulbrick Firebottle, 5w all valve, and the Tiny Terror just doesnt compare at all, awful tones by comparison. The Vox one actually sounded better too, a lot better.

Is it just me or does anyone else think the Vox demo would have been more impressive if he tuned the darn guitar? In fact, it's my Youtube pet hate. More people need to tune better!! Seriously, firebottle dude's guitar was very well tuned and the amp sounded awesome to boot!

Ok... i'll chime in on this one...

i've been messing around with all sorts of low wattage amps that are tube based and here's a few that are note worthy:
Epiphone Valve Junior: Great 5w amp for practice and takes pedals very nicely... don't expect to go rock a venue with it but can be a gateway to modding amps.... lots of great things you can do if you're so inclined...
ZT Lunchbox... great amp for the value

    More serious low wattage amps:
Tiny Terror- more of a one trick pony not a lot of options to shape tone (such as eq) but can power up a 4x12 fairly easily but once again no eq-
Blackstar 5HT- just an incredible amp all the way around
Dual Terror- Basically gives another channel to the tiny terror called the "FAT CHANNEL" better tone than the Tiny Terror but still made in China. but not bad...
VOX Night Train- this is a power house amp- not enough good things to say about it... very versatile.
Mesa Boogie- Trans Atlanitic- I Have not played this one yet... but hear it's pretty solid.

I'm playing an Orange AD30HTC and Orange 212 and i love it... have thought about the Tiny Terror as a practice amp or as a backup... but think i would probably go the VOX or Blackstar over the Tiny Terror or even the Dual Terror...

    hope this helps...
    funny commentary pending...

I don't know, my friend has a Night Train and I thought the gain sounded terrible. The cleans were nice and glassy, but the overdrive sounded so tinny. For $500, there HAS to be something better.

There has got to be something wrong, if you were to hear the gain my son gets with his silohouette through the night train, you will be surprised, I am talking searing leads and plenty of sustain. Was it in triode or pentode mode and did you have the bright switch off or on? Of course a bridge humbucker helps but if you get a chance to try it again make sure the the bright switch and the pentode mode are both 'on'

I don't know the specs, but I can only hope something was set wrong.

Hello there, I've got an Orange Tiny Terror head and i love this amp; it's got beautiful vintage tone, and with OD pedal it can do true jihad!

Recently i got GAS - and Music Man JP6 caught my eye - but i've got one question - how it will sound on Orange? Will i be able to get good clean tone out of it? Orange is a bit dark and "jazzy" amp, how it will work with EB JP? Have you tried this?

PS: Sorry for my rusty english, haven't used it recently

I've been interested in the Tiny Terror, too. But since NAMM, I've really been interested in the Mesa Transatlantic. Seems to be a cool compact head. Might be worth checking out.
