I've played rosewood AL HH, Luke and Axis SS. All felt like they had the same balance as a maple necked version. Of course, the HH Al has a Mahogany body. None felt heavy to me (and I don't like heavy guitars, so I would have noticed).

I can't feel any noticeable difference in weight.

The feel is a little "softer" than maple, but just as smooth.

The rosewood neck is aweome, no noticeable weight difference and silky smooth and easy to care for.

I have a rosewood Axis SS and an AL HH.

To me, the rosewood neck feels warmer (as in temperature) than maple when you grab it...can't explain it, but it does to me.

Also, while it's generally silky smooth, I find it to feel a little tackier when I play it with sweaty hands. I played my Axis SS once at an outdoor gig in August, and remember thinking, "Where did the smooth go?"

I play an all rosewood neck JP6 and it is simply the best feeling and playing profile I have ever touched. The all rosewood neck is worth the extra $$. Cheers.

    What Fingbeagles said.

It feels like really well sanded wood, which is what I like. It's the polar opposite of cheap, lacquered guitar necks.

I have 4 RW neck Balls and they are my favorite out of my 12 - due to the way that the necks feel (like butter) and most importantly sound. Don't get me wrong I love the maple necks too but, there's something tonefully amazing about the RW necks. Even when you play them acoustically you can hear the difference. From a balance and weight perspective, I don't really notice a weight difference and they are balanced just right (as you would expect).

Am I the only one that finds that rosewood gets a little grabby when your hands sweat? It's not that bad, but compared to the talcum powder on glass feel of the dry neck, it does add a little more friction.

As stated, it's NOTHING compared to a lacquered neck with wet hands...no squeaking

I never noticed the balance, which I guess means it's still perfect.

I second the comment about the resonance. The rosewood necks seem to be a bit more alive, you can feel the vibrations in your body, and they seem louder unplugged. But, the 25th is like that too...

Especially since the Rosewood neck option didn't cost any extra. Yes there was a small charge for the BFR inlay, correct?
