Most heinous. I hope the person(s) responsible are caught, or at the very least the guitar is recovered.

A friend of mine was on vacation last year and someone broke into his apartment to steal a ton of band gear. Multiple guitars, 2 amps, a drum kit, and all of his PA equipment.

    I hate thieves!!

It was recovered because they(local police) were responding to a lead on a home burglary. When the caught the kid who robbed the house(allegedly) they also found the Axis. Without realizing it had already been reported stolen they contact MM in SLO to ask if we recently had any instruments stolen. AJ passed the call along to me and I gave them the serial number and description. It seems as if he was a repeat criminal at this time hes claiming the guitar was given to him by a friend as "payment". Simon, the winner of this guitar, has actually seemed to be one of the most geniunely excited winners we've had. I actually caught him that night glaring at it with a look of glee as he showed it off to all of his friends. Here is the original email I got back regarding the instrument:

    Kevin-

Thank you so much for responding so quickly. I've added Simon (The winner of the Guitar) to the chain so that he can add his 2c and answer any additional questions. We did file a Police Report, and Simon can fill you in on the File #/Officer/etc. He's upset about it for sure - a man entrenched in the music world intent on taking lessons after the 'sign' came in the form of this rare and beautiful guitar.

The backstory is this: I parked my car on 51st and Jackson near the Coachella venue on Saturday. When we returned, my car (and the car behind me) and been broken into - the car trashed; stuff thrown into the street. They took off with Simon's Guitar; $200; and a messenger bag w/ $600 in gift cards. Yes, my car was obviously a gold mine.

What a weekend of Highs and Lows....

Thanks, Kevin, for reaching out so quick. I'm hoping this person does something stupid - ie: post on craigslist or eBay - so that we can find the culprit and get the guitar back into safe hands.

    -Jessica

    (and simons response)
    Kevin,

Thanks so much for getting back to us. It was a huge bummer on Saturday night to come back from some great performances at Coachella and find the guitar gone. Hopefully karma gets the best of the culprits. I was really excited to win it and not so excited to lost it. I really appreciate all of your help with this and hopefully the guitar is found.

    The Police info is...

    Deputy KXXXXt - 3XX1
    Police Report Claim # CXX))))))06
    Phone # 760-XXX-8990

If you could get the serial number to the police as well as a better description of the guitar that would be great.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Simon
