    Repairers in Australia

    Hello there,

I own a Luke and a Petrucci which I bought brand new and they're great. I just bought a second-hand 2006 LE Luke and when I plug in get an intermittent crackling type of sound (it's not my leads). I'm thinking that I'll replace the output jack and the volume/tone pots and get the wiring checked out. I note there's some sort of circuit board in with the pots and the selector switch, which looks a bit beyond my expertise. Anybody know a MusicMan repairer in Melbourne or someone who knows what they're doing with MusicMan electronics?

    Cheers

The tone and volume pots are probably fine, I would believe that the jack is the problem and start there.

Gotta say regarding Soundworks, they are hit and miss at best, depends on how well you know them, and Paul in particular. My success rate over 15 years has been around 50% with the various repairers they have employed. Syndal Music do EBMM repairs too and I think are the official Victorian EBMM repairer, and do fine work.
My name is Rob and I'm an AL-coholic!

I buy my balls from the number one EBMM dealer in Australia, the all round nice guy and legendary Colin! His website is www.guitarplanet.com.au Give him a call to order your balls!!!!!

Got an email from CMC who recommended a repairer called Joe Ochipinti at the Guitar House in Nth Ringwood.

When my output jack arrives I'll have a go myself, but I'll try the electrical contact cleaner first. If it needs more than just an output jack I'll put it in for repairs.

    Thanks everyone.
