Indeed a happy ending - all sorted! Just tested it by stringing up the two e strings and 2 springs. I have rellies over for tea who are visiting from New Zealand so I have to perform my "host duties" when really all I want to do is get the guitar all 100% back together

Fantastic work Spud, i cant wait to see the guitar finished and back to good kit.

    EDIT

ah, now i actually took the time to read the whole thread.

That is an awesome piece of work. I do not know if i would have the patience required to remove all that paint and such without damaging the original finish.

Good job, and enjoy the JP6.

Well Fred I said it before and I'll say it again.
You offered to go around to see it for me and you stuck to your remit which as I remember was along the following lines:-
" I don't care if it has issues - dings, fret ware etc. The price is cheap enough for me to consider a refret and even a refin".
You were good enough to get it for me when you had issues at home and do you remember the hassles my son had in getting the money to you via Paypal!! Damn Paypal!!"

I also remember the comment your daughter made when you had it in your gaff - she liked it didn't she? Really the respray wasn't all that bad but you could see the MD peeping through just wanting to show itself in all it's glory.
You managed to get the original pickup because the previous owner had installed an EVH pickup, and you wired it in for me. - and knocked him down $50.

Beej has been great in his help too - I struggle with electronics (yet I can rewire a house with 240V electrics!!). He calmly answers my dorky questions!!

GW Davies arranged the postage via a deal we did - all on trust.

I have really appreciated the support from knuckleheads as I was doing it - believe me when I say that you kept me going.

As I was rubbing the paint off, I had worries as I "hit" areas of primer, but it all came good in the end.

There's been a few hassles/issues on the forum lately but without the help from fellow knuckleheads I would not have a JP6 FULLY LOADED!!

I'm a JP MD owner - and proud of it.

    Cheers guys
