Pls Help Identify this EBMM Guitar

I saw this Guitar at a Guitar thrift shop and want to hear from the experts if it's a worthwhile investment. It looks pretty old and the tailpiece/bridge has corrottion on it.
Music Man Logo on the back plate and tail piece/bridge with serial number. the shape is unlike any Ernie Ball Music Man Guitar I've seen. Can You please helpme identify it's model/ production year. (or if it is a legit EBMM Guitar at all?)
    thanks: )

It looks like an early one. Either a Sabre or Stingray, maybe.

I think you'll find that most around here are into the Pre-Ernie Ball Music Man guitars. But good luck to you if you get it.

Thanks for your input GW! Are you implying that pre-Ernie Ball Guitars are valued more than Ernie Ball Music Man Guitars?
Please excuse my naivety, but I'm really not quite as familiar with these guitars as the ones I normally use.

    It's a Sabre II guitar.
But the headstock has me questioning though. The shape is slightly off.
Notice your headstock pick is pointier under the MM logo, and it's not suppose to be.
The sticker is different. I question if it's the original neck on it.

I'm FAR from an expert - But wait for a few more responses before you pull the trigger.
Yes, the body looks like a sabre or sabre II, however, the headstock/EBMM Logo doesn't really fit that era and, for me, sort of sets of a warning bell.

Wait for a few of the others to jump in.

    Welcome by the way
    Scott.

They're cool to have but their value is nothing special.
They weren't really good guitars as BP will probably tell you.

    BTW: welcome to the forum!!!

I wouldn't buy that one if I were you.
They come up for sale from time to time in much much nicer condition than that one.

This is what you could get at some point if you wait.

Number one that is not a Sabre or a Stingray or a Music Man You all get a fail....It is a japanese body and neck and music man sabre bridge and jazz bass control panel someone elses pick ups and a forgery on the headstock.

This is worthless guitar...please dont buy it unless you like it.

Well that is Gospel, and the big guy saved ya from getting a counterfeit.

Kudos to Foggy and Gonzo though for sensing it was not right.

The "Ernie Ball" on the headstock should be a dead giveaway. The first EBMM guitar was the Silhouette. Anything before that might say "Music Man", but it would not say "Ernie Ball."
