    My super modded EBMM Luke!

    Hi there,
I'm Marcello, from Roma, Italy. I don't write so much on this forum, but I often follow intresting threads and, of course, I'm a Ball user!

I want to share with you the joy of owning a beautifully EBMM made guitar customized by myself to suit my own taste and playing. It's a pearl blue Luke II made in february 2005 and bought in Rome few months later.

So, that's how the guitar looks like:

    headstock close-up:

    inside its great-smelling case:

and the case itself, featuring the mighty Flying Spaghetti Monster and the Elvis-faced Jesus sticker :

You can see more pix (all hi-res) here

So Marcello, you may think, what about the mods?

    Here we are:

First I replaced the original EMG pickups with Di Marzio Hs-3 (x2) and Paf pro, now the guitar sounds less "hi-fi" and more strat-like, though punchier than the usual 3 single coil pickups guitar we all know about. I replaced all the plastics too to match the new pickups.

Then I sanded away the Luke decal, nothing against the man himself or EBMM (they're both great!), I just didn't feel as "mine" a guitar with someone else's name on the headstock

The third interesting mod was adding an N-Tune, an amazing chromatic tuner you can install inside your guitar

The next two step will be changing the frets (which are really damaged) with a medium-jumbo fretwire and adding a Tremol-no, does anyone ever had the chance to try it?

So guys, thanks for reading, sorry for my messy English, I hope you enjoyed and comment heavily this thread of mine! I'm here to answer every question and listen to any suggestion.

    Rock and Roll!
    Marcello

Very cool! Love all the mods you did - nothing like making a guitar your own! How does the N Tune work - are you satidfied with it? I've been looking at those......

Hi Greg, the N-Tune works great, the installation is not dead easy but it's not rocket science either! I was lucky because I already had an unused (because of the mod) battery box, many could not have room for a 9volt battery inside their guitar, check out if you have enough space before buy!

I've heard from other Tremol-No users that it doesn't work 100% like it's supposed to. Take it with a grain of salt though...

I was struggled at the beginning, then I decided to make everything white to change completely the look of the guitar (the EMGs and all the plastics were black), sometimes we all need to change, ahah!
